A working meeting on the new approaches at the correctional services of the beneficiary states during the new programming period of NFM 2014 – 2021
A series of working meetings in relation to the further development and application of new approaches in the work of the correctional services to be supported during the new programming period of NFM 2014 – 2021 were held in the beginning of November 2018 in Vilnius and Druskininkai, Republic of Lithuania.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Lithuanian penitentiary system, the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice – Programme Operator under the Justice Programme of NFM 2014 – 2021, the Donor programme partner under the Justice Programme for all beneficiary states the Norwegian Correctional Service and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia.
The main topics included the exchange of experience and best practice in conducting training for new staff and follow-up training for staff as well as identifying activities for cooperation among the beneficiary states under the Justice Programme of NFM 2014-2021. Together with representatives of the Donor programme partner under the Justice Programme- the Norwegian Correctional Service and our colleagues from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia and the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania we managed to have an in-depth and beneficial discussion and to tour the transitional unit before the release of the persons deprived of liberty at the Pravieniskes Open-Type Prison Dormitory.
We also identified a date for a working meeting to create a network for synergy among the Programme Operators in the beginning of January 2019 in Bucharest, Romania.
