On April 20, 2023, the municipality of Brezovo held an opening event under the project "Establishment of a Consultative Center for organic agriculture, organic animal husbandry and beekeeping on the territory of the municipality of Brezovo". The project envisages the creation of a modern Consultative Center for organic agriculture, organic animal husbandry and beekeeping. The appointment of four employees is planned to work in the new center and provide quality services for farmers and processors who want to switch from conventional to organic cultivation or processing of their produce. The guarantor of the quality of these services will be the project partner - Agrarian University - Plovdiv, which with the experience of its support units and centers will guarantee the quality training of the newly appointed staff and the subsequent services provided. The implementation of the project will stimulate organic farming and animal husbandry in the territory of the municipality, which will contribute to its economic development by creating alternative employment for the population through new market opportunities and overcoming the negative consequences of conventional agriculture on the environment. A network of interested individuals and legal entities will be built to promote the development of an approach for establishing the municipality of Brezovo as an ecologically clean region, offering certified products and services. The project is worth BGN 390,940 and ends on April 30, 2024.
