The prison in Belene hosted a working meeting of experts from Norway and Bulgaria. In the period April 26-28, 2023, the expert group under Activity 2.6 "Development of a training program for management staff of the General Directorate "Execution of Punishments" and prisons" under the project "Increasing the capacity of staff, building a pilot prison related to a training center and improving the rehabilitation of prisoners" under the "Justice" Program of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, held a regular meeting at which measures were discussed and identified for the implementation of the set activities and tasks.
On behalf of the Norwegian partners, Ulle Stageberg - lecturer at the University College of the Norwegian Correctional Service, Leif Magne Viste - head of the ONA prison and Frank Johansen - "Staff Training" expert at the Norwegian Correctional Service took part.
From the Bulgarian side, heads of prisons and GDEP experts took part.
The result: a training program prepared by the expert group and approved by the Norwegian partners for the management staff of GDEP and Prisons, which will be an integral part of the organizational strategy for staff training.
