The European Institute Foundation launched the BRACE&PROTECT [Capacity-building and policy recommendations for vulnerable third-country nationals, seeking international protection or granted temporary protection] funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. An expert survey was presented with institutional representatives and refugees from Ukraine. 66 thousand people are currently settled in Bulgaria, 70% of them are women. The number of people with higher education is also very high, but their diplomas are not accepted in our country. For this reason, they work as masseurs, manicurists, hairdressers, cooks, according to the sociological survey. Despite the expressed desire of Bulgarian employers to hire Ukrainians, only 1,600 people have been officially hired. Most refugees from the war do not stay in our country but go to other European countries.

The project will train over 200 representatives of institutions to provide better care to vulnerable third-country nationals.
