Opening conference of the Internal Security Directorate - Ministry of Interior, presenting the project "Prevention and Counteraction to Corruption", funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021

On August 10, 2021, the Internal Security Directorate held a conference to present the project "Prevention and Counteraction to Corruption". The project is funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and is implemented by the Internal Security Directorate in partnership with the General Directorate of the National Police.

The conference was opened by the Director of the Internal Security Directorate - Senior Commissioner Georgi Georgiev, who introduced the audience to the main goal of the project, namely - to increase the administrative capacity of employees of the Internal Security Directorate in preventing and combating corruption among police officers.

Key note speaker at the conference was the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior - Chief Commissioner Stoyan Temelakiev, who praised the contribution of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and assessed the project as important not only for the Ministry of Interior but also for society.

The Deputy Director of General Directorate of the National Police - Senior Commissioner Stoyno Tsvetkov pointed out that the fight against corruption is a priority in the work of the Ministry of Interior, and the implementation of the project will lead to the application of new, advanced and up to date knowledge and professional skills to fight corruption.

The project manager - Ms. Svetlana Ognyanova presented the goals, activities and stages of development, as well as the expected results. The term for implementation of the set activities is 36 months - from January 17, 2020 to January 17, 2023 and the budget is worth BGN 3,781,323.99.
