Introductory meeting and trainings under the Science and Information towards Regional Environmental Action for the Black Sea (SCIRENA- Black Sea) project

Black Sea Basin Directorate, as the beneficiary under the BGENVIRONMENT-2.004-0001-C01 Science and Information towards Regional Environmental Action for the Black Sea (SCIRENA- Black Sea) project, financed by the Environment Protection and Climate Change Programme of the EEA FM 2014-2021, held an opening meeting and thematic trainings in hybrid mode - both in person and remote, in English.

The opening meeting presented the objectives and the tasks of SCIRENA- Black Sea project- namely the education and information improvement in relation to the regional activities aimed at marine environment protection in the Black Sea.

The series of trainings conducted by the project partner, Institute of Marine Research, Norway, took place in a form of active expert discussion regarding the implementation and conduct of monitoring, exchange of experience and good practices with focus on pollutants in the marine environment and sea food, the wholeness of the seabed, the food webs, microplastics, organic pollutants in sediments and biota.

More than 50 experts from all invited stakeholders, the institutional and academic communities, and non-governmental organizations took part in the event.
