On June 21,22 and 23, a group of 20 experts from the four participating municipalities of the "Improving the capacity of administrations and pilot implementation of measures for successful adaptation to climate change in the municipalities of Peshtera, Batak, Sadovo and Strelcha" project financed under the "Environment Protection and Climate Change" Programme of the EEA FM 2014-2021, participated in a 3-day training held in Sunny Beach resort. The training is part of the planned activities of the project (Activity 2) and was aimed at increasing the competencies of employees in the 4 municipal administrations in the field of combating climate change, strategic planning and implementing adequate measures for adaptation to climate change.
During the event, a wide range of topics was presented, among which the challenges of climate change and its consequences, actions by the EU in the field of climate and emission reduction as well as the role of the local authorities in the process of adaptation to climate change. Moreover, the good practices and green solutions in the cities were also highlighted in the discussion.
