On 13 March 2020 the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria adopted a decision to declare a state of emergency in the country with the aim to contain the spreading of COVID-19. Most of the European countries, incl. in EEA and Norway Grants donor states are currently enforcing different restrictions and preventive measures such as closure of borders, ban of travelling and of organizing meetings and events.
In this regard, we would like to notify you hereby, that the Bulgarian National Focal Point for the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism temporarily suspends acceptance of applications under the Travel Support Scheme under the EEA FM and NFM 2014 – 2021. This decision has been coordinated with the Joint Committee on the Bilateral Fund.
Upon cancellation of the aforementioned emergency measures, the submission of applications under the Travel Support Scheme shall be allowed to resume once more. All relevant information shall be published on the web site of the EEA and Norway Grants in Bulgaria (www.eeagrants.bg). We do hope and believe that with joint and coordinated efforts we shall overcome the crisis.
