Bulgaria is in the top of the 15th states implementing programmes supported by Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein under the EEA and Norway Grants 2014 - 2021. This was the evaluation of the current state of play made from the Donors' delegation during the Annual Meeting held in Varna on the 26th of September. The regular meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, the Financial Mechanism Office, the Norwegian Embassy in Bucarest and from the Bulgarian side: the National Focal Point, the Audit and Certifying authorities.

In 2018 all programmes for the 2014 - 2021 period were signed and the foundations have been laid for the start of the projects in 2019.

Project visits were organised for three projects in Varna and its surroundings. The first one was the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy where a project for integrated information system has been developped.

The guests had the opportunity to discuss the project results and its added value with Flotilla admiral Boyan Mednikarov, Prof. DSc.M.Sc., Rector of the Academy and the team of experts involved in the implementation. The second project was supported by the Green Industry Innovation Programme and ensures hot recycling of glass waste with renuable energy in the town of Beloslav. The third one helps for the digitalisation at the University of Economics - Varna.
