Bilateral Workshop under the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021 Active Citizens Fund in Bulgaria to be held in Sofia in November 2018

The Open Society Institute – Sofia, in its capacity of Fund Operator of the Active Citizens Fund in Bulgaria under the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, organizes a Bilateral Workshop in Sofia on 7 November 2018. The Workshop is a match-making event. It shall gather Bulgarian civil society organizations and organizations from the donor states (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), interested in developing joint projects under the thematic priorities of the Active Citizens Fund in Bulgaria. Organizations from the donor states can register for participation in the Workshop by submitting the Registration form available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BilateralWorkshopSofia

Applicants from Bulgaria must register before 31 October. Approved candidates will receive confirmation by email.

The Active Citizens Fund is part of the “Civil Society” program area whose objective is “civil society and active citizenship strengthened and vulnerable groups empowered”. Fund Operator of the Active Citizens Fund in Bulgaria is Foundation Open Society Institute – Sofia (OSI-Sofia) in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) and the Trust for Social Achievement (TSA). Within the calls for proposals under the Fund, applicants can submit partnership project proposals in six thematic priorities/outcomes:

  1. Strengthened democratic culture and civic awareness;
  2. Increased support for human rights;
  3. Vulnerable groups are empowered;
  4. CSOs actively address gender equality and gender based violence (GBV);
  5. Increased civic engagement in environmental protection/climate change;
  6. Enhanced capacity and sustainability of the civil society sector including CSOs.

Registration requests will be processed in the order of submission until the available budget for travel grants is exhausted. Approved applicants will be informed by email.
