In 1999, the United Nations declared August 12 as International Youth Day.
The theme of International Youth Day 2020, “Youth Engagement for Global Action” seeks to highlight the ways in which the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes The youth centers in Bulgaria, built with the support of the EEA Grants support, will also celebrate this day with interesting initiatives and events.
International Youth Center - Stara Zagora
On the occasion of August 12, the International Youth Center in Stara Zagora is organizing a festival with summer cinema and interesting initiatives for young people from the city and the region. From 18.00 to 20.30, an exhibition will be held next to the municipal building, which will present the most interesting initiatives of 15 organization working with young people from the city and the region. At 20.30, on the fpen stage in front of the municipality building the movie "12 A" will be presented. The movie is directed by Magdalena Ralcheva, founder of the International Festival of New European Cinema "Golden Linden", which is held in Stara Zagora.
Youth Center-Dobrich
Many youngsters have discovered and developed their talents in the Youth Center-Dobrich, which provides excellent opportunities for individual reaqlization and free communication between young people.
On August 12, the Youth Center - Dobrich is organizing the following initiatives: - Short movie, prepared and filmed by the participants in the "Eco Summer" 2020 Programme, which shows the richness and diversity of skills, interests and aspirations of young people in the region. Because it is important that differences unite us! - Exhibition "Faces", author: Pavleta Dimitrova - 17 years old, from Dobrich.
Youth Center - Plovdiv
One of the interesting current initiatives of the Youth Center - Plovdiv is the program "Young Intern", whose participants undergo various trainings to acquire new knowledge and skills related to their personal development.
On the occation of the International Youth Day, the young interns will have the opportunity to show what they have learned so far, by organizing and holding two thematic meetings with their peers in the Bio-garden of the youth center
Youth Center - Vratsa
On the occasion of August 12, the Youth Center - Vratsa organizes an event in the park behind the monument to national hero Hristo Botev. Various initiatives and events will be held, including:
