More than 250 organizations, hundreds of citizens and representatives of cultural institutions from the country took part in the information campaign which the Ministry of Culture conducted in its capacity as Programme Operator of the “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” Programme. The events were conducted in 10 cities within the frames of 10 days. Information sessions took place in Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Blagoevgrad and Vratsa.
During the sessions, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Head of the PO – Mrs. Ameliya Gesheva, the manager of the Programme – Mrs. Tatyana Tsvetanova and the Coordinator – Mr. Plamen Panov gave clarifications on the Guidelines for the announced in the beginning of September – Call for project proposals under Outcome 2 “Access to Arts and Culture Improved”. “With the measures under the Programme we will put accent on the establishment of connections with the Donor States and on the cooperation with the cultural institutes in the country. We put focus on the opportunities which the Programme will provide for the whole cultural sector until 2024.”, said during one of the sessions Mrs. Ameliya Gesheva. A presentation on the main requirements that the projects shall fulfill was delivered.
The aim of the support that will be given to such projects is to contribute for the strengthening of the capacity of cultural operators and for the improvement of the quality of life in the communities. The PA14 “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” Programme focuses on the role of culture and cultural heritage as resources for local and regional development. Outcome 2 “Access to Arts and Culture Improved” will support projects that allow for the organization of diverse artistic and creative events, festivals, performances, exhibitions and initiatives which revive peripheral areas, give new life in smaller cities and villages and last but not least which attract and develop new audiences.

The Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 provides funds given by Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Iceland and Principality of Liechtenstein. The aim is to reduce the economic and social disparities in Europe and to strengthen the bilateral relations between the Donor States and the Beneficiary States through funding of a couple of priority sectors (culture, civil society, good management, fundamental rights and freedoms).
