In connection with the start of the implementation of the projects for expansion of the youth centers in the municipalities of Dobrich, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Vratsa, the Programme Operator (PO) of the "Local Development, Poverty Improvement and Improved Involvement of Vulnerable groups” programme has provided a two-day introductory training to the members of the project management teams.
The training was organized in compliance with the requirements for physical distancing, related to the anti-epidemic measures at public events.
Official guests of the seminar were Mr. Georgi Tityukov, Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality and Mrs. Ivanka Sotirova - Deputy Mayor of Stara Zagora Municipality, who are responsible for the activities of youth centers in their municipalities.
Leading experts of the Programme Operator team, presented the main procedures included in the programme’s “Guidelines for beneficiaries for implementation of projects”, focusing on the deadlines, requirements related to possible changes in the project/ budget, reporting of indicators, risk management, financial management, selection of contractors for the construction works or other project activities, as well as the requirements for communication and publicity.
The interactive approach of the seminar provided to the participants a great opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas. Each of the project management teams briefly presented the goals and objectives of their project, elaborating in more detail on the activities to be accomplished by the end of the year. Thus, a number of common topics for discussion emerged. Some of them were discussed during the current seminar. The others will be discussed during the upcoming annual meeting of the National Network of Youth Centers.
During the second day, special attention was attributed to the procedures related to financial planning and reporting in the process of overall project implementation, as well as to the requirements for sustainability of the projects, funded by EEA grants.
