  • Municipality of Sredetz launches a project for modern street lighting

    A press conference was held in the municipality of Sredetz for the start of activities under Contract No BGENERGY-2.001-0036-C01 of 02.03.2021 for grant financing of the project “Replacement of lighting and introduction of a smart system for management and monitoring of street lighting in the town of Sredetz, Municipality of Sredetz, under the procedure “Rehabilitation and modernization of municipal infrastructure - systems for external artificial lighting of municipalities”, Programme “Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Security”, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.

The press conference on 31.08.2021 was attended by the mayor of the Municipality of Sredetz, eng. Ivan Zhabov, representatives of the municipality's partner on the project Veilyskompetanse AS, representatives of the contractor for construction works for the replacement of the lighting. The event also included participation from the media, citizens, local authorities, NGOs, etc. The participants were provided with over 300 brochures (you can see here and here) created specifically for the project. After implementation of the activities the lighting in the town of Sredetz will be fully replaced with new LED lights, with high quality and increased luminous production.

The implementation of the project will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Norway and increase the expertise of municipal administration in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy management.
